San Francisco Early Music Society

Galería de la Raza
Founded in 1970 by local artists active in el Movimiento (the Chicano civil rights moment), Galería is a non-profit, community-based Latino arts organization located in the heart of San Francisco’s Mission District. It is nationally recognized and is one of the Bay Area’s oldest, most well-respected arts organizations. The Galería is an international forum for the examination and expression of concepts central to Latino experiences.

 

Los Cenzontles Mexican Arts Center
Los Cenzontles Mexican Arts Center (LCMAC) is a non-profit cultural organization located in San Pablo of the San Francisco East Bay Area. Within the walls of its humble storefront in Dias Plaza is a unique and proud story of a band of artists and their young students' exploration of the traditional arts. This exploration, in turn, has formed the basis for a growing community institution which is training thousands of Bay Area Youth, continuing and presenting valuable traditions and creating beautiful music.

 

Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts
The Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts (MCCLA) was established in 1977 by artists and community activists with a shared vision to promote, preserve and develop the Latino cultural arts that reflect the living tradition and experiences of Chicano, Central and South American, and Caribbean people. The MCCLA makes the arts accessible as an essential element to community development and well-being. As a community non-profit arts organization, MCCLA prides itself in enriching, in a most unique way, the cultural and artistic life of the Mission, San Francisco, and Bay Area residents as well. The Board of Directors, Management and Staff, share a commitment to providing quality and relevant art programs and services, and to working with community individuals and groups in the pursuit of this vision.

Chanticleer
Hailed by the New Yorker magazine as "America's favorite choral ensemble" and praised by the Los Angeles Times for its "luxurious perfection," the GRAMMY® Award-winning vocal ensemble Chanticleer in 2006-07 performs over 80 concerts in 22 states across the U.S., including appearances at Walt Disney Concert Hall under the auspices of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Library of Congress in Washington, DC, the Cathedrals of Saint Louis and Philadelphia, New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art and Vassar College. A tour of prestigious European summer festivals in July will see the ensemble in France, Austria, Germany and Switzerland.

 

Cascada de Flores
Cascada de Flores ("waterfall of flowers") is a professional music ensemble dedicated to the exploration, preservation and dissemination of Mexican and Cuban regional music and dance. This quartet, celebrated for their immense talent and heart-felt expression, reaches diverse audiences through a variety of live performances, from intimate house-concerts to performing arts centers ranging from the local (Oakland and Santa Barbara, CA) to the international arena. They are also involved in creative collaborations, recording projects, community outreach activities and in-school programs and workshops.
